A Totally Frivolous TL;DR Post Wherein I Rewrite Revenge of the Sith

I wrote this during the week for my own entertainment, and so I'm posting it today because 1) I like what I came up with, and B) with Figurereviews.com's Seventh Anniversary this week (and a big block of Beast Wars reviews coming next week) I've been kind of busy. So today we're doing something completely unrelated to gaming- import, retro, or otherwise.

Shut up it's a blog I can write whatever I want

(At least it's not about my cat.)

I've seen a lot of attempts to "fix" Star Wars: The Phantom Menace lately. And believe me, it needs fixing. But for me the real lynchpin to making Star Wars work as a whole is Revenge of the Sith. It's a movie in an unenviable position of having to wrap up the prequel story and make it tie into the original three movies, and as such it does an okay job mechanically, but it's missing something. Cohesion? Likeable characters? Writing? You could say it's any number of... okay, it's the writing. Not just dialogue, but the reasoning behind certain things that happen primarily because they have to happen to make the series work. These could be better.

So here’s what I’m thinking:

Ogre Battle Part 18: Is His Brother's Name Suave?

Warren meets another Green Dragon, but it's not in a joining mood. So it's very shortly in a dying mood.

We get the town south of the castle. This is Ryan the Beast Tamer. He'll join us for 20,000 Goth. Oh, what the hell. He's Level 9 with a pair of Lv.7 Dragons- be a while until I use him...

We're all pretty well in position. We just need Kamui to get where he's going. Ashe has his first battle in the meantime, and does quite well. Still need to promote those little Fighters...

Ogre Battle Part 17: Probably not from Housewares

Hanna takes on a Valkyrie and her Cockatrices, and loses, to my shock. Hope she makes it back to town in time...

Yes and no. She aces the Valk, but loses again. But they didn't have time to retake the town, so my Reputation isn't going to drop. That'll do, Cleric. That'll do.

Ogre Battle Part 16: Resistance is... actually pretty damned effective.

Lanselot's on his way, but one of these damaged units needs a place to rest, and is making threatening motions towards Hanna's town. Hanna's probably going to wipe the floor with them. Landis is doing better with the Valkyries, taking less damage and managing decapitating strikes on unit after unit.

After unit. After unit. Lots of enemies, is what I'm saying.

Ogre Battle Part 15: Slum Lords

The branching paths end for now. There's no place else to go but the Slums of Zenobia.

This gigantic walled city is, well, walled. We'll have to deal with that eventually, but there's other worries first.
